5 Things to Pack in Your Bag for Your Stay at an Ashram

If you’re going to be staying at an ashram, then you want to be well-prepared. Bringing the right equipment will help to ensure that you get the most enjoyment out of your stay.

Here are the 5 best things to bring for your stay at an ashram.

1. Comfy Clothes

You’ll be staying at an ashram - not a business conference. Bring comfortable clothes that are loose and can be worn for extended periods.

2. Easy Shoes / Flip Flops

You’ll be taking your shoes on and off a lot. You don’t want to bring shoes that need to be repeatedly laced up throughout the day.

3. Snacks

Depending on the ashram that you’re staying at, you may be given anywhere from 1-3 meals a day. Bring your favorite snacks to stay nourished in between!

4. Toiletries

Unless your ashram provides toiletries (many don’t) make sure to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc. Bringing along your favourite beautiful handmade soaps can make you feel at home.

5. Flashlight / headlamp

Many ashrams are lit with candles at nighttime, and outdoor areas are not lit at all. Bringing a light source can help prevent you from stumbling and getting lost.
