This hand-held option is perfect for the days you feel like dry brushing and the days you just want to remove dead skin in the shower. Also, our top pick for travel. We don’t recommend you use this on your face. This is a good second dry brush or for those who like to dry brush a few times a week. This is a good brush for Pitta (sensitive) or Kapha (oily) skin.

Dry body brushing helps shed dead skin cells resulting in smoother and brighter skin. It also stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.

The traditional Ayurvedic dry massage is called garshana. The ideal time to use the Made by Yoke dry brush is in the morning before showering.

This brush has medium bristles, ideal for regular dry brushing or shower exfoliation.

Prep Your Bathroom

Dry brush upon awakening in the morning before showering. Dry brush in the shower, or on a towel, in the bathroom to collect dry skin.

General Rules of Thumb

Apply medium pressure so that you can feel the movement, but not scratch the skin.

You always dry brush towards your heart to help get the lymph moving upward. Once you get above the heart, on the neck, move strokes in a downward motion towards the heart.

Feet and Legs

Begin at the feet with long sweeping motions moving towards the heart. Move along each limb on its own, repeating strokes 2-3 times on both the front and the back of the legs.

Use shorter motions when working around joints like knees and elbows

Stomach

Use light circular, clockwise motions. Repeat 3-4 times at a slow-to-moderate pace.

Arms

Starting with the hands make your way upward toward the shoulders. Repeat strokes 2-3 times on both the front and the backs of the arms.

Neck and Heart

Start at the jaw line and very lightly move toward the chest. Repeat strokes 2-3 times on each side. Complete by drawing light circles around the heart.

Shower and Hydrate

Always take a shower post dry brushing to remove dead skin. Hydrate with body oil to ensure your body is moisturized to replenish the new layer on the surface of the skin.

Care: Be sure to change your dry brush every 4-5 months.

Best self care purchase

I’m new to dry brushing and ordering the yoke brush. It’s my favorite self care purchase in a long time. The brush feels great and my skin feels and looks better after just a couple uses. I see online that there’s a difference in some brushes in terms of how soft and hard they are, but after trying this I’m not sure why you would need anything else.

Great brush

I’m a newbie with the whole dry brushing thing but after watching a couple of YouTube tutorials I believe I have it down. This brush is very easy to use and I love that it has a strap so it won’t fall. Although it is hard to reach your back I’d say that’s not the brushes fault rather than having short arms. Overall, I’m satisfied

Dry brushing with good brushes

My first impression of the brushes were that they were smaller than I thought they’d be. However, when using them in my, now daily, skin brushing routine, I find that they are just right. I like the combination of both brushes on my body since on some areas I like a stronger bristle, which is the brush with the handle.
